October President Report

Dear Members, October was a truly energising month for the Tamworth Business Chamber, as we celebrated Small Business Month with a suite of impactful events and opportunities for local business development and connection. We kicked off the month with a dynamic trio of workshops delivered in partnership with UNE, each tailored to address the evolving needs of our business community. From exploring the future of AI in Tamworth, to sharpening leadership skills with Dan Urquhart from 1,000 Feet Deep and diving into the power of regional media with local industry experts—each event was well attended and received excellent feedback. We’re thrilled with the level of engagement and are already looking at ways to bring similar events back in 2026.

Dear Members,

October was a truly energising month for the Tamworth Business Chamber, as we celebrated Small Business Month with a suite of impactful events and opportunities for local business development and connection.

We also hosted Days 2 and 3 of the Scaling Up program with Anna Samios from Performance7. This intensive two-day program was incredibly well received, and we’re in discussions to bring Anna back again next year. It’s fantastic to see local businesses investing in sustainable growth strategies and future-focused leadership.

October’s BA5 was hosted by Formline Group, who generously welcomed members into their impressive space as they celebrated an incredible 30 years of business in Tamworth. It was a fantastic evening of connection and storytelling and a testament to the enduring strength and innovation of local business.

Throughout the month, the Chamber also took part in stakeholder focus groups hosted by Tamworth Regional Council, providing input into the proposed Special Entertainment Precinct (SEP) and discussions around the Night Time Economy Strategy. These sessions are important steps toward enhancing vibrancy and business opportunities in the CBD and surrounding areas and we’re proud to represent the voice of our members in these conversations.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to present the State of the Nation Leadership Forum on Thursday 13 November, featuring Stephen Galilee from Mining NSW and The Hon. Barnaby Joyce. With both local and national insights on offer, it promises to be an engaging and thought-provoking event.

Then on Friday 21 November, we’ll hold our AGM & Christmas Party at The Pavilion. It’s a great opportunity to connect with members, welcome our incoming Board, and celebrate the year together. We hope to see you there.

See below in the Newsletter for Upcoming Events, jump on the Chamber website or ring the Kates to book.

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed throughout October. Your continued support is what drives the Chamber’s success. Let’s finish the year strong!

Yours in Business,

Dave Errington.
