Annual General Meeting Nominations

AGM Nominations – General Information

The Tamworth Business Chamber is seeking passionate, committee, and forward-thinking business leaders to join our Board of Directors. As a director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Tamworth’s business community by guiding strategic priorities, influencing local advocacy efforts and driving initiatives that strengthen and support businesses across the region.

Why Nominate Yourself or Someone from Your Business?

Being part of the Chamber’s Board is more than a leadership opportunity; it’s a chance to make a real impact. As a director, you will:

  • Influence Local Business Policy: Help shape the Chamber’s advocacy agenda and ensure the voice of local business is heard at all levels of government.
  • Strengthen Our Business Community: Contribute to programs, events and initiatives that create opportunities for business growth, connection and collaboration.
  • Expand Your Network: Build valuable relationships with other business leaders, decision-makers and community stakeholders.
  • Develop Strategic Leadership Skills: Gain board-level experience, enhance your governance knowledge and grow your leadership profile.
  • Champion Your Industry: Represent the interests of your sector and ensure its needs and opportunities are part of the Chamber’s strategic direction.

What’s Involved?

Directors are elected for a term of three years and are expected to:

  • Attend regular board meetings (once per month)
  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making
  • Represent the Chamber at events, forums and stakeholder meetings
  • Support major initiatives such as the Quality Business Awards, Shop Local campaigns and Chamber Connect initiatives
  • Act as an ambassador for the Chamber and advocate for our mission and values

Whether you’re a seasoned business owner, an emerging leader, or part of a corporate organisation, nominating yourself or a colleague is a meaningful way to give back to the business community and help shape Tamworth’s economic future.
