Tamworth Business Chamber’s annual ‘Think Local, Shop Local’ campaign, in its ninth year of operation, has finished this week, generating $2,179,953 million in retail sales, making 2025 the most successful year yet!
With more than 154 participating businesses, there were 18,010 entries from 112 different postcodes represented. With an average spend of $121.01, people have proven to support registered businesses within the Tamworth Local Government Area (LGA) despite difficult economic times, the cost of living crisis and the popularity of online shopping.
Ten winners of the weekly draw were invited to attend the final key draw on Sunday 21st July at 10.30am on the corner of Fitzroy and Peel Streets, where they selected a key out of the barrel. Key number 4 was the lucky winner, seeing Terrance Boys unlock the brand new Hyundai Venue.
This event has been made possible by major sponsors Tamworth Regional Council, Woodleys Motors and Hyundai Tamworth, Centrepoint Tamworth and Tamworth Shoppingworld. Penrose Meats and Transwest Fuels supplied the weekly supplementary prizes of $100 gift vouchers and the entire campaign was underpinned with the supporting sponsors Allsopp Signs, Radio 88.9, NBN Television, WIN Television and The Northern Daily Leader.
A special thank you to Chamber Connect who ran the BBQ on the day with sausages donated by Penrose Meats and fresh buns donated by Bakers Delight Tamworth Shoppingworld.
Remember, Think Local, Shop Local!
