Dear Members,
As we reflect on a dynamic April, I am proud to share how the Chamber continues to create valuable opportunities for our business community to connect, engage, and thrive.
Meet the Candidates Event In partnership with 88.9FM, we jointly hosted the Meet the Candidates event ahead of the Federal Election. This important initiative gave our members and the wider Tamworth community the chance to hear directly from local candidates on the issues that matter most to our region. For the first time ever, the event was also streamed live on the 88.9FM Facebook page, significantly expanding its reach and allowing those unable to attend in person to stay informed and engaged. To date, the live stream has been viewed by more than 14000 people and has 5000 reactions, demonstrating the strong interest and engagement from across the region. Thank you to everyone who attended, tuned in online, and contributed thoughtful questions to ensure a robust and respectful discussion.
Business After 5 at Powerhouse Hotel Our April Business After Hours event, held at the Powerhouse Hotel, was another standout evening. The venue provided a superb backdrop for members to network in a relaxed environment while enjoying wonderful hospitality. These gatherings continue to reinforce the strength and spirit of our business community and are instrumental in fostering new connections and collaborations.
Business NSW Regional Leadership Summit 2025 Hosted by Business NSW and held at TRECC in Tamworth on April 8 and 9, the Regional Leadership Summit 2025 proved to be a vital forum for exploring the future of regional business. Featuring keynote presenters such as The Hon. Victor Dominello and Julian Arndt, sessions covered crucial topics like AI in business, workforce development, sustainable manufacturing, and industrial relations. The summit provided attendees with innovative strategies and knowledge to drive business productivity, resilience, and growth across our region.
Regional Chamber Forum 2025 April also saw us participate in the Regional Chamber Forum 2025. This event brought together Business Chambers from around the region, government representatives, and business advocates. Highlights included addresses from Brendan Moylan MP and Tim James MP and workshops on policy priorities. This forum was a key platform for strengthening our collective voice and shaping the future of regional business advocacy. It is the first time an event like this has been run and will hopefully be the catalyst for a more collective approach in the future.
Shop Local Campaign 2025 We are excited to announce that our Shop Local Campaign 2025 Has launched this week! This initiative is designed to rally our community behind local retailers and service providers, encouraging everyone to keep their spending within Tamworth. In the lead-up to the launch, we've been busy preparing engaging marketing materials, building partnerships, and creating a campaign that will deliver real impact for our local economy. Stay tuned — more details will be revealed soon on our social media pages as we officially kick off this exciting new initiative.
Looking Ahead As we move into May, planning is well underway for our upcoming initiatives, including the much-anticipated Tamworth Quality Business Awards, to be held in September.
We're also working on an exciting new event later this year that will deliver real value to our members. Stay tuned and keep an eye on the Chamber's social media pages for updates as we prepare to reveal more in the coming months.
On behalf of the Board, thank you for your continued support and engagement. Together, we are ensuring Tamworth remains a vibrant and prosperous place to do business.
Yours in business, Dave Errington
