Board of Directors & Staff

The Chamber Staff work closely with the Board of Directors, which is made up of local business people who hold a membership with the Tamworth Business Chamber. Members of the Board of Directors volunteer their time and are nominated and elected by financial Chamber members at the AGM each November.

The directors bring to the table both ideas and issues from the local business community, as well as represent the Chamber on various committees and working groups.

The current Board consists of an excellent mix of industries and business experience.

Stephanie Cameron


East West Enviro Ag

Steph is a qualified scientist who graduated from the University of Western Sydney Hawkesbury with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biological and Chemical Technologies in 1996. Since then Steph has gone on to become the business operations manager, director and co-owner of East West a local company based in Tamworth. East West is a National Association Testing Authority accredited lab for testing soils for geotechnical, environmental and agricultural purposes. East West also performs concrete, aggregate, plant, compost, manure, grain and water testing as well as contaminated site investigations. The East West business grew from Stephanie's desire to provide a soil and water testing facility in the Tamworth region, reducing the need for local businesses to send their sample's to metropolitan centres, and in turn, creating employment and skills opportunities locally.

Stephanie's vision for the future of her business is to become self-sufficient, allowing growth and focus on social responsibility. Passionate about her community and the environment Steph is actively involved in several community projects and groups. She is a founding member of the Tamworth Urban Landcare Group, Treasurer of both Tamworth Regional Landcare Association and Tamworth Club of Zonta, Chair of both New England North West Landcare Network Chairs and the Sustainable Northwest program, and she is the region’s representative and Deputy Chair of Executive NSW Landcare Committee.

Through her business, Steph has won Business Leader for 2015 at the New England North West Business Chamber awards and went on to represent the region at the State Business Chamber Awards in Sydney. In March 2016 Steph was awarded the Local Women of the Year for Tamworth NSW and in 2017 finalist in Regional Women of the Year Category in the NSW Parliament.

Meredith Abrams

Vice President

Creating Focus

Meredith has experience in fields including communications, marketing, public relations and event management. With experience working with and offering integrated marketing solutions to large organisations, the not for profit sector, local government and small business.

Since moving to Tamworth in 2014 she has been thriving in roles that include marketing strategy, development and brand management before establishing her own business, Creating Focus Marketing Solutions.

Passionate about continuous growth, Meredith's studies began at the University of New England with a Bachelor of Communication Studies majoring in Media and Culture, followed by a Graduate Certificate in Marketing at the University of Newcastle & is currently undertaking a Diploma of Event Management with Meetings and Events Australia.

Stephen Maher


Stephen A Maher & Co

Stephen Maher is a Chartered Accountant operating a Chartered Accounting practice in Tamworth for over three decades. While providing predominantly tax accounting services, the practice also provides business management advice, auditing, self-managed superannuation accounting, and has a financial planning licence. Additionally Stephen has qualifications being Graduate Diploma of Financial Management, UNE, concentrated on small business studies, Masters Degree in Business Administration, UNE, with a major in agribusiness, Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) UNE, Master of Laws, Sydney University, covering taxation law, international tax law and international law.


Stephen was previously on the board of the Chamber of Commerce, the Business Enterprise Centre and the Tamworth Regional Development Corporation Ltd.

Matthew Sweeney


Bell Partners

Matthew Sweeney is a Chartered Accountant and business advisor with global experience but a local approach. Over the past 25 years he has worked with businesses from local start-up entrepreneurs through to international Government departments providing strategic guidance and compliance advice using his wealth of knowledge and expertise. More recently he has joined the team at Bell Partners in Tamworth as the head of the Accounting division.

Libby Campbell


Everingham Solomons

Libby was born and educated in Tamworth. She completed her tertiary studies at the University of New England and the College of Law in Sydney.

Libby was admitted as a solicitor in 2017 and commenced working with Everingham Solomons in the same year in the personal injury and employment law areas.

Additionally, she is currently studying a Master of Laws (Applied Law) majoring in Business Law through the College of Law in Sydney.

Libby is the current Secretary on the Tamworth Junior Chamber of Business Committee and has performed this role since 2020. Libby and her fiancé also run a small cattle enterprise in the New England area.

Libby is interested in facilitating and promoting business events in our city and hopes to continue to contribute with the Tamworth Business Chamber.   ­­

David Errington


Apollo Engineering

Dave Errington is Managing Director of Apollo Engineering. Apollo is a locally owned family business that specialises in advanced manufacturing. Apollo is an OEM for a range  equipment, supporting industries such as mining, mechanical, rail, transport, waste collection and more. Apollo also supports local industry with our advanced manufacturing advanced manufacturing capabilities with services such as CNC Machining, laser cutting, CNC folding and fabrication.

Dave grew up in Tamworth, completing his schooling at Tamworth High School in 1993. He began his career in manufacturing, joining the family business as an apprentice Fitter and Machinist. Over the next 25 years his passion for Australian manufacturing grew as the business continued to embrace technology to improve efficiency and create a globally competitive market offering. During this time, Dave completed his Bachelor of Business at the University of New England, met his wife Karina, had two children and moved to Bundaberg to work in the family business for 4 years. In 2018, an opportunity presented itself to purchase the (original) business in Tamworth which Dave and Karina jumped at.

Dave is extremely passionate about regionally based manufacturing and believes that the best way to achieve success is to innovate and collaborate.

Whether it is with your suppliers, work group, customers, training providers, government departments - it doesn't matter, as long as everybody in the value chain gains success from it". 

Caroline Lumley


Carlum Communications

Caroline is an experienced strategic communications and engagement specialist with a proven track record in both the public and private sector.

Never one to sit still, she has developed an impressive marketing and communications toolkit that includes: campaign development, brand strategy, event management, sponsorships, digital marketing, membership marketing, content production, public relations, crisis media management, website and app development, and she possesses writing abilities well suited to corporate publications, grant applications and award submissions.

Caroline is an excellent relationship-builder and influencer; with a proven track record of working effectively with challenging ‘nonmarketing’ internal groups to deliver change.

Tom Campbell


Rice Construction Group

Tom is a licenced builder and the commercial construction manager of Rice Construction Group.

Having opened the Tamworth branch of Rice Construction Group in early 2015, Tom plays both a strategic and operational role in the business, building relationships, winning work and overseeing all projects completed by the local team and the 50-60 subcontractors of Rice.

With a focus on major commercial upgrades, Tom and Rice's recent works include the Tamworth Airport upgrade, new AELEC areas, the world class Tamworth Hockey Complex and the Tamworth Regional Astronomy and Science Centre.

The management of commercial construction work is a wide-reaching pursuit requiring ongoing relationships with developers, trade industries, professional consultants and regulatory bodies. It is the experience in that range of areas that equip Tom as a suitable advocate for Tamworth's business community.

Outside of work, Tom spends his time on the family grazing property between Tamworth and Manilla. Tom is enthused at the prospect of working with the business chamber at the forefront of Tamworth's ongoing development.
