Mission Statement
“To be a catalyst for building a better Tamworth and District and to provide a forum for information and services which stimulate and enhance business for its members”.
About the Chamber
The Tamworth & District Chamber of Commerce & Industry is a proactive organisation in assisting business development in our region. In particular, we offer support services and advice to our members and the business community.
The Tamworth & District Chamber Of Commerce and Industry boasts one of the largest memberships of any regional Chamber. Whilst this is a great achievement and reflects well on a business community working together, increased membership would allow improved services and broader activities.
In 2001, the Tamworth Chamber of Commerce received the State Chamber Award for the "Best Chamber Initiative" for promotion of local business through events such as the Quality Business Awards, Shop Locally Promotions, Manufacturing Awards, Peel Street Cottage Craft Fair, Queen of Country Music Quest and Country Music Cavalcade. The then chief executive of the State Chamber, Katie Lahey, visited Tamworth at the time of Taste 2001 (another promotional event previously co-ordinated by the Chamber) and was most impressed with Tamworth, the Chamber and the selection of local and regional produce available.

Chamber Members' monthly meetings provide a forum to enable Chamber Members and their guests to network. The meetings feature information sessions and guest speakers on various topics. We encourage any Chamber Member who has not attended a meeting to do so in order to make use of the excellent networking and business promotion opportunities.
Chamber keeps all members up to date via a fortnightly e-news. Your Chamber enjoys strong support from media outlets including The Northern Daily Leader, Prime and 2TM / FM92.9 regularly reporting on Chamber activities. This strong relationship ensures the media highlights local issues affecting business in the Tamworth district.
The long term future of the Chamber is dependent on a self-sustaining level of membership. Therefore our drive for increased membership remains one of the most important objectives of the Chamber team. Increased membership allows us to achieve more for the local business community.
While your Chamber is here to offer advice and business information, we are also here to help lobby local, state and federal governments regarding regional business issues.
